Join Our Board of Directors!
We are a fun and enthusiastic group of mountain bikers and professionals that are passionate about singletrack trails. All COPMOBA (Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association) directors are volunteers working together to serve our mission to advocate for mountain biking in western Colorado. Board service is a great way to give back to your local biking community and to support sustainable trails.
COPMOBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tiered organization. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization providing oversight, resources, support and guidance for Chapters. COPMOBA currently has four chapters: Grand Valley Canyons (GVC), Montrose Uncompahgre Trails (MUT), Ridgway Area Trails (RAT), and Delta Area Mountain Bikers (DAMB). Chapters are the stewards of the trails in each local region. They provide trail knowledge, trail maintenance, communication with stakeholders, they organize and promote Chapter events, and more. There is significant overlap between the Board of Directors and Chapter Committees; most board members participate in both.
If you want to become a board member, please review the responsibilities and time requirements (detailed below) and email a letter of interest to trails@copmoba.org. Let us know why you are interested in serving on COPMOBA’s board, and include any professional background and/or prior board experience you have that makes you a strong candidate. All candidates will be reviewed and evaluated by the current Board of Directors; select candidates will be invited to interview.
