COPMOBA's New Visual Identity & Tagline
The Board of COPMOBA is excited to introduce COPMOBA’s new visual identity and tagline. Our new logo reflects our updated mission, vision, and values statements after nearly 12-months of planning efforts. The “RIDER BUILT TRAILS” tagline encompasses these core tenets, is a hat tip to our prior tagline “build, maintain, and advocate,” and also helps us remain closely connected to our rich history of 34+ years of trail building and community development across Western Colorado. In the coming weeks and months, you’ll see us transition toward the new brand across our various communication channels and design assets.
Before going too far, we wanted to share a little more context and rationale behind the changes. First, you’ll notice the clean typeface and the shovel in the word COPMOBA. The shovel is a key tool used to build and maintain trails and is easily identifiable (vs. McLeod, pick, and other trail tools). We have listened to many new members on how our existing logo is not easily readable and adds confusion to those who are unfamiliar with our organization. We believe the clean typeface and shovel better addresses these friction points.
You may be wondering why we do not have a direct connection with biking in the new logo. This is by design and is because we will be using our logo and design assets in the context of mountain biking. This is something the board aligned on after much discussion and is a similar approach used by many industry brands that you may be familiar with (e.g., Specialized, Pivot Cycles, Shimano, etc.).
Beyond the new design, you’ll also notice our updated color scheme. Our new color palette connects our four chapters and is rooted in the diverse landscape and geography we serve across Western Colorado - Tabeguache Tan, Bookcliff Brown, Open Range Blue, etc.
I hope you are energized as we are on the fresh look and thanks for your continuous support. Efforts are already underway to update signage, social channels, and other materials with the new logo.
Lastly, massive thank you to Joey Early (passionate volunteer + GVC Chapter Committee Member) for helping to guide the Board through the rebranding process. We are immensely grateful for his creativity, skills, support, and professionalism in creating COPMOBA’s new visual identity!
